Human-Centered Digital Strategy
How can digital strategy centre on the people who benefit most from an arts organization’s success? How can connections with key beneficiaries be made more joyful, efficient, and inclusive through the deployment of technology?
In discussing the case of one organization, Ottawa-based Odyssey Theatre, this informative toolkit will demystify an approach to digital strategic planning that puts people first, not technology.

Green(er) Arts Research
In 2022, The Government of Canada committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and in August 2022, launched the ‘Net-Zero Challenge,’ a voluntary initiative to encourage businesses to develop and implement “credible plans to transition their facilities and operations to net-zero emissions by 2050.”
The Green(er) Arts Research Project aims to investigate the factors affecting arts organizations’ capacity to participate in decarbonizing Canada’s economy. What motivates or prevents arts organizations from creating carbon-reduction strategies?
Collaborators: Hill Strategies Research, Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts
We are in the process of securing the necessary funding to bring this vision to life. We are actively seeking support from funders, sponsors, and donors who share our commitment to a greener arts sector. Stay tuned! -
Arts Impact Calculator
What if arts organizations were better able to calculate the social and economic benefits they bring to their local communities? Launched in January 2024, this collaboration with Arts Network Ottawa (ANO) seeks to study the feasibility and potential merits of developing an open-source, web-based impact calculator for arts organizations.
Leveraging ANO’s extensive network of artists, arts organizations, and community service nonprofits, the project aims to understand and propose solutions to the challenge of impact measurement in the arts, while building on existing community resources and expertise.
With funding support from the Ottawa Community Foundation.
